Continuing from my previous experiments I have started playing around with bold solid colours compared to watercolours and fine liner drawings. I really like how these looks and the clean appearance it has, much like the book covers I researched. The first illustrations I used colours within an actual cigarette such as brown, yellow, white and grey and kept the next two more simplified with whites and blacks.
I particularly like the last image as I feel it most resembles the books covers I researched, as well as, having a more sinister appearance which is the feeling I felt while reading the short story. In this experiment I also started looking at how font might come into play and used a simple font but kept it scaled down, inspired by War of The worlds. I like the idea of captioning my illustrations with 'The' I.E. The Match, The Cigarette, The Flask and may keep running with this theme.
