The Whiskey Experiment Continued

I wanted to carry on with the the same theme as the previous match stick design in photoshop but using my lino cut print of the whiskey flask. Like the match stick I wanted to keep the red streak throughout the designs and in this image I kept it parallel to the flask and slight underneath it. I also loved the rough papery texture I used in the match stick and felt it would flow well if it was included in my future illustrations to keep with the same theme. I originally had the flask as a translucent image with the red streak coming form the barrel upwards, however, I felt this didn't look refined enough and was the alter the colours a little (Above Image). This inspired me to turn the flask into a bright green and move it slight off center, the green referencing the native colour of Ireland in witch the story is based. It is also a great complimentary colour for reds.
