With this experiment I wanted to focus on a certain character in the short story The Sniper. This character is only named as an 'informer' and is quickly eliminated by the sniper after she discloses his whereabouts to his enemies. She is describes as being and old woman concealed by a tattered shawl. She stood out to me because it showed the risks certain people would take to defend their country and because she forces the sniper to take action to defend himself, after already being spotted by an opposing sniper.

I wanted to continue with the same theme as my match stick illustration using angular lines/edges and blocked shapes and colours. I drew her facing away and only a part of her face revealed, to give a mysterious feel. I also kept the same theme of captioning the drawing and named it 'The Informer'. After coming up with the initial design I took the sketch in Photoshop and started playing around with shapes mostly using the pen tool to create sharp and angular lines. I originally thought about keeping my original script text of the informer but feel it looked out of place and decided to change it to a more simply font and placed it above the characters head. Keeping with the style of my previous designs I kept the eerie red streak to symbolise the bloody atmosphere featured in the short story and more importantly the informers untimely death.
