Graham Rawle is an author, illustrator and collage artist. During this workshop we were instructed to choose a pair of words from a list and interpret them into any form or medium we chose. The word pair that I chose was 'Dark Teacup' because I loved the enchanting imagery it gave to me in my mind. I imagined something sinister in a magical world involving teacup which had been cursed and anyone who drank from them suffered serious side effects.

For my illustration I used watercolours and fine liners. I wanted to achieve a whimsical feeling as is it was an old medieval poster warning the citizens of a kingdom. I really liked this workshop as it help me to really explore ways that you can come up with original ideas. It is something you can inject into everyday drawing just by paring two words that you wouldn't normally place together.
