For our second group task we had to look into working with sound and text to creatively display the narrative of Under Milk Wood. After meeting a few times our group came up with an idea to create a large book made from tables stack on to each other with paper placed on the outside. Since the story is based on the course of one day we wanted display this in the installation. To do this we decided to use audio of various sound effects heard at different times of the da I.E. Cockerels in the morning, streets and crowds for midday and owls for night, etc.
We also wanted the text on the book to appear in correlation with the time of day, with us each choosing a character which would appear at various times of the day. However, our group had issues with time management and planning we struggled to organise each characters quotes on the slideshow.
For feedback people commented on its diary-esque feel because of the hand written type and it's innovative appearance. They also mentioned how it might be interesting to make the book with actual pages, making the installation more interactive for the audience.
In terms of set up we didn't think about how the projection might appear on the pages of the book. Because of the angle of the book the projection didn't fill the entirety of the pages which was also down to time management.
