After my tutorial with Emily I liked her suggestion to make the moon on my front cover smaller and maybe simplify the overall apearance of the cover so it works in synergy with the inside illustrations. To do this I wondered how the illustration would look with a white background like the inside images, I loved the result and makes it easier to look at. I wanted to add a level of opulence to the cover but in a subtle way.
Because the story is based on the Irish Civil war during the 1920's I thought a small amount of gold foiling would work well because of the art deco movements during that time. I used the gold foiling on the moon and loved the result and thought it set the illustration apart just enough from the inside images. I also liked the new positioning of the fonts and authors name because it seems to be easier to read. I felt happy with the four inside illustrations I wanted to keep them how they were rather than try and change a good thing.
