Kate dress was just as influential in bridal fashion as Diana's was during the 80's. Within hours of her dress being revealed, designers all around the world had already created replicas. Her dress feature copious amount of lace starting from the torso which faded out around mid waist and then began again from knee height.
Unlike Diana's dress which had vintage lace from Queen Mary included, the lace on Kate's was machine made taking inspiration from the Irish style of lace called Carrickmacross Lace. The dress was made from and ivory satin and was subtly augmented by using tulle underneath the skirt. The various parts to Kate's dress influenced many designers and trickled into mainstream bridal shops and before long many brides where getting married in similar styles.
